City wants to settle with Derris Lewis

The city is recognizing the inevitable and will be offering Derris Lewis a settlement. Derris Lewis was the guy accused of killing his twin Dennis Lewis. After a mistrial the city was forced to drop charges after its key piece of evidence, a supposedly bloody palm print, turned out to be bogus. This seems to be a pretty clear cut case of people all around failing to do their jobs. How the prosecution didn't know before the first trial that their key evidence was invalid is beyond me. The city needs to pony up the money.
